ALLIED – BOARD STRUCTURE
Further to the announcement earlier in the month, I am pleased to announce that Julian Russell will join the board of Allied Textiles with effect from October 1st 2007.
Julian will take on the newly created role of Business Development Director, reporting to me. His most recent role was as Managing Director of Petlon Polymers Ltd, a division of JWH Group Ltd. He has a strong operational and commercial background and is a qualified Chemical Engineer.
This new position is designed to speed the development and implementation of the Group’s commercial strategy.
Given that the Synthetic Operations are now our core business, it is essential we develop and implement a strategy to take the business forward, capitalising on the leading market positions and technical knowledge which we possess.
Julian will also replace, after a suitable handover period, Geoff Willshaw’s role in the Mayfield Yarns operation – both in the UK and Canada. As such, Julian will base himself in the Mayfield operation.
I am pleased to announce that John Reed will also join the group board with effect from October 1st 2007.
Whilst John will continue to be responsible for William Reed and Coating Applications, his addition to the board will allow the group to benefit from his extensive knowledge and experience as it develops a cohesive long term strategy.
